For the past four years, we’ve been bringing the worlds largest Marketplace for Aviation to life by exhibiting along side 16 of our members, and we look forward to continuing the tradition this year in booth 843 of Geneva Palexpo Hall 6. With co-exhibitors from 14 different countries representing four continents, and with fleets spanning from mustangs to helicopters to ultra long-range aircraft, our line-up this year is an excellent sample of what our Marketplace can offer.
To satisfy some of your curiosity and get you as excited about EBACE as we are, we’re giving you the chance to meet our co-exhibitors in advance through a series of quick introductions (kind of like speed dating). What are your predictions for 2011?
We are looking forward to steady growth in the African market 2011. We have a very versatile fleet featuring jets, turbo props, single turbo props, which can land almost anywhere, and a helicopter, so we attract many different people/industries to use our companies – tourists, business men, celebrities on holiday or doing charity work etc. All these different markets have been increasing steadily and also our medical evacuations have seen a major increase over the last year due to the increase in tourism.
What had the biggest impact on your market and business in 2010?
We have seen a very positive increase in our corporate charters in 2010 and this has increased promisingly so far in 2011.
What are you most looking forward to at EBACE?
We are looking forward to co-exhibiting with Avinode for the second year and meeting old contacts and new faces.
What do you value most about being a member of the Avinode Marketplace?
The Avinode Marketplace has been a very dynamic and professional way for Phoenix Aviation to gain exposure in the global market, but on the whole our main market is still very much in E. Africa. We have seen Seychelles routes for holidaymakers pick up well connecting Seychelles and E. Africa; very interesting on the whole. Avinode is ahead of the game as far as I can see and merging with Charter X was a great move for all of us!

What are your predictions for the industry and your market for 2011?
We have been expecting a slow recovery and to be honest, we have had very nice figures during the first two months, but March has been weaker than expected. We think recovery will take longer in our area than in other European countries.
What had the biggest impact on your market and business in 2010?
The weak market in Spain, along with, the overwhelming competition for only a few customers, and, too often, grey market charter, have all taken their toll. Due to this prices have had to be reduced, which has resulted in less flying for less money.
What are you most looking forward to at EBACE?
Getting new contacts will be very important at EBACE, as well as meeting with our regular customers to hear their opinions.
What do you value most about being a member of the Avinode Marketplace?
We really appreciate meeting new customers, brokers and other companies that would be almost impossible to get into contact with without being an Avinode Marketplace member.
Anything else you want to share with our readers?
We have opened a base in Madrid Torrejon and we now have one of our XLSs based there in order to be more competitive in Madrid market.
